UEM Sunrise launches The Beat 2.0 at Kiara Bay

UEM Sunrise Bhd recently launched The Beat 2.0, an expansion of its retail hub at Kiara Bay in Kepong, during a groundbreaking event at the Kiara Bay sales gallery. The new development spans 2.6 acres with a net lease area (NLA) of 73,566 square feet, featuring Harvey Norman Malaysia as its anchor tenant.

UEM Sunrise’s CEO, Sufian Abdullah, expressed pride in this collaboration, positioning The Beat 2.0 as a dynamic urban hub that integrates retail, leisure, and living. This retail extension is poised to benefit from the area’s growing activity and recent property launches, such as Residensi Zig.

The original Beat, launched in April 2022, occupies 12.54 acres and includes 69,112 sq ft of NLA. It features 21 lakefront retail lots, an F&B establishment, and a sales gallery. With Village Grocer as its anchor tenant, occupying 64% of the NLA, The Beat is fully tenanted, underscoring its success.

As part of their sustainability agenda, UEM Sunrise signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BM Green Energy Sdn Bhd to install rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for both The Beat and The Beat 2.0. This initiative highlights UEM Sunrise’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, increasing energy efficiency, and working towards their goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Sufian emphasized that using renewable energy not only saves utility costs but also supports a greener, more sustainable future for Kiara Bay. This project reflects UEM Sunrise’s dedication to integrating environmental consciousness into its developments while offering a vibrant and eco-friendly community space for residents and businesses alike.

The combination of eco-friendly practices, modern urban design, and strategic partnerships with established brands such as Harvey Norman positions The Beat 2.0 as a thriving retail destination within Kiara Bay, enhancing the appeal for both consumers and businesses looking for a contemporary and sustainable environment.
